My Tsunami writing

Have you seen a tsunami? On Monday the 14 of June kea did a tsunami experiment. First we got into groups, I was with Siale, Sale, Talita and Sione. Next we got a gray tray, newspaper, cardboard to build a house, sand, water and leaves. After that, Sione got the water and Talita got the sand. Then we scrunched up the newspaper and put it on one of the sides of the tray. Next we tipped the sand on the top of the scrunched up paper and we had to cover the scrunched up paper. Then me and Talita ran outside and put our shoes on and went to find some leaves. When we got outside we searched for leaves and finally we found some leaves on the ground and then we ran back to the class room and decorated it with leaves. Lastly we got to make our tsunami! Our teacher came over and made the waves and we recorded our experiment and posted it on the class dojo.  After that we got to see other people's work. I got paper towels to clean up the table because the water went everywhere.

Have you ever been in a earthquake?

In a real earthquake the plates push together forming pressure and the ground shakes.

We did an earthquake experiment and the ground shook! Our hypothesis was that the buildings would all fall off and that whats actually happened!

First we built an earthquake base then we used lego to build a city. Next we got to shake it like there was an earthquake. When we shook it the lego broke and our base broke as well. I think that was because we shook it too hard.

Sky City Experience

Today hoiho and kea went on a trip to the Auckland rugby sky city. First in the morning kea went to the hall to do jumjam  while hoiho got ready to hop on the bus first.

After we did jumpjam kea went to class and did the roll and split up in groups.

The first group was with mr To'oala, second group was with whaea Sam the third group was with Whaea Ocea.

We went by bus and when we arrived we played games, saw some players, went to a changing room and watched the haka. We got to throw a rugby ball around.

Did you know it is womens rugby week?

We watched the womans haka.
